Beach Golf! There
is a wealth of magnificent courses in and around the Flagler Beach area.
Flagler Beach's own municipal course offers Atlantic breezes to any golfer
who takes the challenge. Nearby Daytona boasts great golfing for all skill
levels. With lots of water and lots of nature, some of the most beautiful
and challenging courses are in this area. Several resorts in the area
feature courses available both to guests and non-guests. While in the
area stop by and visit the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine. Ocean Palm Golf
Course in Flagler Beach This course
is located near the beach and adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway. Its
cool ocean breezes make playing golf comfortable in the summertime. There
are five ponds that come into play on four holes and palm trees and homes
line the fairways. Matanzas Woods
in Palm Coast Designed
by course architects Arnold Palmer & Ed Seay, Matanzas Woods is a very
challenging course with open, rolling fairways, well-bunkered greens,
and water on eight holes. This interesting layout offers a quiet and peaceful
atmosphere, meandering through the trees. Ocean
Hammock Golf Club Ocean
Hammock Golf Club is a self proclaimed golf masterpiece. On Florida's
northeast coastline, a pristine parcel of oceanfront property is now home
to one of the game's most stunning layouts. Ocean Hammock Golf Club is
Florida's first true oceanfront course to open in more than 70 years.
The Daytona Beach Golf Club
Featuring
two golf courses, north and south. The South golf course is the original
18 holes and is a Donald Ross design. It is a very sporty course. The
North golf course was built and designed by Slim Deathridge in 1946 and
rebuilt in 1997 to create a challenging golf experience that winds its
way through dense Florida oak and pine. Marsh
Creek Country Club in St. Augustine This course has tree-lined
fairways defined by a standard cut of rough. The terrain is basically
flat, but there is some mounding that might cause an uneven lie. The large
greens vary in undulation and are quite fast. Ray Floyd
Saint Augustine Shores Golf Course Ray Floyd
St. Augustine Shores Golf Club offers 18-holes of great golf. This St.
Augustine course bears the name of golf great Ray Floyd, Floyd has over
20 PGA victories to his credit. The club also features a lighted driving
range, the only one in the area. Ponce
de Leon Golf & Conference Resort This is
a traditional par 72, Donald Ross, championship Ponce de Leon course.
The front nine is a "lynks style' layout running along the picturesque
marshlands of the Intracoastal Waterway. The fairways are lined with magnolia,
oak, palm and pine trees and play is a bit tighter. |
